Ok … I took some time off. I’m back now. I temporarily closed my business when I was hired to run a non-profit in my town. That has ended, and I’ve decided based on multiple phone calls, emails and texts … to re-open the business.
I’ve been doing this web design thing since 1998. Before I took some time off, I had 600+ clients spread out in 40+ US States and 8 countries.
I have a big, varied background and have lots of experience working with a wide variety of businesses. Most of the businesses I work with are small “Mom & Pop” shops and businesses under 20 employees. It’s easier to work with them and I feel more like an “employee” with them and get involved with their businesses as I work with them to make their business better.
I had several larger clients, some national clients, some famous clients (TV & Music) and while I really enjoy working with them, I’d rather work with the smaller businesses. It’s great to be paid with a guitar or unreleased music, but I also love to hear how I helped a business grow and expand!
Besides working with individual clients, I also accept sub-contract work for marketing agencies, IT companies and other web designers. Since I’ve been around a while, I bring a unique perspective to how things work, differnet coding languages, a variety of WYSIWYG programs, working with a number of hosting platforms and companies. I teach people how to use Microsoft products and Adobe products.
My skills don’t exist only as a web designer / digital marketer / whatever the current buzzword phrase is, I’m also a nationally known woodturner (imakebowls.com). I’m the Board President of our local food bank and my church’s Administrative Board’s Chairperson. I also bartend and mix some great cocktails.
