I sometimes get complaints from other web designers because I’m not like them. I don’t fit “the system” that’s out there.
I prefer to do what I think is best for my clients as compared to what’s best for me (money-wise). I’d love to sell you a monthly contract just because everyone else has one.
- I am honest with my clients. I’ll give you my honest opinion even if I think you might not want to hear it. I’ve lost jobs because I told clients other ways to get things done that don’t involve me.
- I don’t sugar-coat things.
- I don’t keep codes from my clients. You get all your domain name access codes, web hosting codes, web maintenance codes, Google codes, etc. I’ll stay on your account so I can help you, but it’s YOUR account. You should get all the codes.
- Generally, I’m less expensive than others. I work from home, I have no employees – very low overhead.
- I won’t pitch you a package to maintain your website, unless you ask about a maintenance package. I have an hourly rate to help you and bill you based on the work requested. I don’t bill you each month to maintain the website just because I can bill you monthly.
- With all the businesses I worked with, I can relay what worked for one that might work for you. From farmers, insurance agents, hair salons, bed & breakfasts to musicians, rock bands, national organizations … the basics are the same.
- I can provide business consulting services and make recommendations on business plans, business expansion, reorganizations, hiring, policies and streamlining processes. I have experience with Continuous Improvement practices.
It all comes down to me working with 600 differnet businesses and working on over 1000 websites since 1998. I had clients in 8 countries and 40+ states. I wouldn’t have had so many clients if I wasn’t doing something right.
